Universities and scholarship committees seek students who give back to their community. In addition to the top ten reasons to volunteer (see tab) volunteering gives you experience to add to your resume. I invite you to contact local organizations for volunteer opportunities (see below).

- Contact local non profits (Boys and Girls Club, Think Together) and ask if you can volunteer during the summers or click here for more locations.
- Your local Public library
- Contact your previous elementary and middle school teachers and ask if they need assistance with tutoring or over the summer
- Talk to a resource staff member at your church and see if you can donate your time in events, or during service

- Organize a canned food drive or hygiene drive to support a local non profit
