All High School students can take a community college class for free. Most of the time, students will need to pay a small health fee and pay/rent a book. This is a great opportunity to obtain high school and college credit. Please note that high school students register for college classes at the very end of the registration window. College students receive priority. However, college students are not too fond of taking summer classes. :)
Steps to take:
1. Identify the community college you are interested in attending. For the sake of the process, Santa Ana College will be represented here.
2. View the class schedule
You can take any 100 class you like. Higher level will have prerequisites. I DO NOT recommend an online class. However, if you are interested and very independent you can take it.
4. Enroll in the course, purchase a book
For any questions, please see your counselor.

- I recommend the following courses as they tend to be transferable. Transferable meaning that when you attend a UC/CSU the universities will accept the courses and give you credit. Some privates also accept them but may have reservations. I invite you to view your university of interest and see their policy on community college classes. If you want to confirm for a specific UC or CSU if the course you take will be transferable, please visit ASSIST.ORG or see your counselor
